This year provided some highs and lows for real estate in New York City. Sales records were broken, but the overall market hit the brakes, even as mortgages rates stayed low. Design took center stage in a lot of new developments in attempt to attract buyers. And Hudson Yards opened to great fanfare, but remains a work in progress, vulnerable to the same headwinds facing the rest of Manhattan.
